Technical Lead, Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) Applied Architecture

Federal Bureau of Investigation

Dan spent ten years as a Submariner in the United States Navy. During that time, he served at various duty stations such as Groton, CT, King’s Bay, GA, Pensacola, FL, and Pearl Harbor, HI.

His enlistment included a near five-year tour on the USS Kamehameha (SSN 642), which was involved in a historic trip to the Kingdom of Jordan as the first U.S. submarine to visit.

After the Navy, Daniel joined the FBI as a System Administrator, helping to transition multiple systems from legacy on-premises hardware to a modern cloud-based architecture.

In his current role as Lead Engineer for the FBI’s Biometric Information System, Dan is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a complex system, across multiple biometric modalities, that is used to support law enforcement throughout the world. As the Technical Lead for the Applied Architecture team, he helps the FBI CJIS division explore new technologies and provides strategic architectural guidance.
